Description: Achieving the full benefit of autonomous systems in maritime logistics will influence on how businesses are organized. In this report we present a study of the two use-cases in the project as a basis for parameterization and definition of corresponding system Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). In the parametrization, internalities as well as externalities will be covered to reflect the profitability of an autonomous maritime system as such, and how this system may impact the society at large.
The report documents the creation process of a generic business case model (GBCM) which enables:
1) Comparison of autonomous ship based waterborne transport chain concepts against other transport chains (typically road-based transport or conventional waterborne transport)
2) Identification of potential effects of investments in autonomous ship technology related to increased efficiency (in terms of costs and HSEQ) for existing waterborne transport chains.
